Project background:

FH India is implementing Elimination of Mosquito Borne Endemic Diseases (EMBED) Project with support of Godrej Consumer Products Limited CSR and in collaboration with Health Department of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. The Goal of the project is to reduce morbidity and mortality due to Malaria and Dengue through behaviour change communication (BCC), community mobilization and increased access to preventive, testing and treatment services to the last mile.

Position summary:

District/City Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring timely execution of field activities, monitoring and support the quality of roll-out of project activities; liaison and coordination with Officials of Department of Health and Family Welfare, VBD Control and Prevention unit and other stakeholders at block, district and division level; and ensure timely reporting of progress of the EMBED Project. District/ City Coordinator will be based at project office in the district to oversee project operations.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as the point of contact for the operational roll-out of the EMBED Project in the intervention district.
• Represent EMBED project before all key stakeholders in the intervention district including VBD Control and Prevention unit, Department of Health and Family Welfare, local media, community-based groups, and other stakeholders. Work in coordination with and leverage support from Health Department and other stakeholders in district to support activities for prevention and control mosquito borne diseases.
• Responsible to map all clusters, entering the data with all relevant information. Ensures the periodic update of data through mapping at regular intervals.
• Oversee community mobilization activities for IVM, liaising with public and private sector health care providers. Training and capacity building of ASHA, ANM and private sector health care providers.
• Undertake regular field visits (20 days per month) to project intervention sites to support quality of project interventions and handholding of staff. Hold planning and review meetings with project team.
• Participate in planning and review meetings conducted by health department and support district and training and capacity building of ASHA and ANMs.
• Network with the government officials and private sector stakeholders to ensure availability of preventive, diagnostic and treatment services including IRS, LLINs, and mosquito repellents. Support in execution of district PIP under NHM to support activities proposed under VBD section.
• Collect and analyse the data including line listing of malaria and dengue cases from District health department to inform project on the areas that need emphasis.
• Assist in outbreak response and management for mosquito borne diseases in coordination with health department.
• Technical, Programmatic, data related capacity building of project team.
• Establish systems to periodically track and monitor progress against project deliverables. Ensure adequate use of mobile technology for information to be used by project team. Conduct data quality audits.
• Share case studies and success stories of the Project; and prepare due reports as per deliverables.
– Any other task assigned by supervisor/ person authorized by supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualification and Work experience :
• Master’s degree in public health/Social Work / Sociology / or any other related subject.
• 5 years of experience in community-based programs. Preference will be given to the candidates having experience in public health programs.
• Experience in data collection, analysis and documentation.
• Experience in working with Vector Borne Diseases Programs and/or working with the Government/public health system is preferable.

• Basic computer skills and use of Microsoft Office
• Demonstrated outstanding level of professionalism in providing technical and management support
• Adherence to the values and principles of Family Health India.

COMPENSATION :

Compensation levels at FH India are equivalent to market rates within the development sector. However, offers shall be based on salary history, relevant experience, qualification and budgetary provisions under project.
